This is a whimsical perspective on my grandparents, or as I call them, “Mom” and “Papa”. Mom would call him a Toad when she was upset with him, and he always thought of her in awe, as if she was a queen. My Mom and Papa, the frog and the monarch.

The artwork is on a 9x12 stretched canvas with an acrylic painted background. The frog and butterfly are each painted on card stock and then attached to the canvas with hot glue. The frog is perched on a limb made of card stock and framed by paper foliage and white flowers that are card stock painted with acrylic paint.
